hot topic with a lot of right & wrong answers depending on who you talk too. I think they have their place, turkeys is a prime example. They also work good on coyotes, bobcats, pronghorns, and other game deer size or smaller.
I have had bad experiences with one brand of them & some other people I know have too. the main problem was lack of penetration even though all rigs shot plenty of KE (60+lbs.).
I have heard a great deal of good things about rocket steelheads. I like what they have done by keeping the cutting dia. down to 1-1/8". I think the key things to watch are your KE, cutting dia., and the angle the blades set at when fully open.
