Even if you didn't sign your name, I believe you do have a legal contract. Money has exchanged hands, which is often used to argue that a binding argreement has been made. I'm not an attorney, but this is what I have gathered from recent legal experiences. I'd say apply again next year. You now have a preference point and will likely draw a tag for the '05 season.
