Gibblets right, but your package contants have to be post-date stamped at the post office, and the package cannot be opened. I've looked into this whole thing before from a fishing product I came up with. A patent attorney will do a search for you, but cost you big bucks. Doing a patent search yourself will be free but cost you big time! The best thing I can suggest is to go to your library, research the whole process, and don't let your idea go dormant like I did. Oh yeah, do not respond to those guys you see on t.v, it's a waste of time and money. They will give you a market report on your product, make things sound good, then want more money.
