RE: Caribou Hunters - advice please!
Yes, Newfoundland has the Woodland subspecies. These do have smaller more compact racks, as they move through the forrest - hence the name "Woodland". I have read that their body size is larger than most of the other subspecies with the exception of the Mountain caribou, but I have never hunted the others so I can tell you from first hand experience.
They also aren't as migratory as the Q/L. To a certain extent they do move towards the southern part of the island, but there really isn't a migration like the others.
