ORIGINAL: walks with a gimp

The carbon arrow shafts need to be cut with a high speed arrow cut off blade or the fibers of the shaft will splinter and weaken the point end of the shaft. I've cut LOTS of aluminum shafts with a tubing cutter and if you go slow, works well. Buy an arrow cut off saw and it will save lots of time and be much more precise.
Ditto. I cringe when I hear of people using hacksaws and whatnot to cut an arrow...especially carbon... Just don't know what you are doing to the inside of those carbon layers..they do separate and compress.. and in places where you cannot see. Not worth a shaft shattering at release and risking an injury to save a few bucks. Most shops will cut your arrows for a nominal fee, and then you can square them up with the ASD tool.
