thanks for the help, here is some more info. i am going to test the soil right away, should give me an idea. i have started checking into some of what is available. the ones that look promising are Imperial alfa-rack, Tecomate alpha feast trophy mix, and cabelas fall forage select. also looking at some of the deer cane stuff to attract right after this gets going. the reason im looking at these were they said they were compatible with dry weather, as well as cold resistant. both of those are real important here. all have alfalfa too, which i know produces well here, all of the ranches around that grow alfalfa, the deer seem to attract to it. my water tank can go about anywhere. i think this should work well, there are lots of deer in the area with no pressure, and no decent feed except what grows naturally. i just gotta get all my ducks in a row.
