RE: Which rangefinder would you choose, Nikon or Bushnell?
I have the Nikon 440, and the optics are clear, it is easy to use, and it is very small. So small in fact that you can put it in your pocket and forget that it's there. It is somewhat hard to remain steady, especially at longer distances. One thing to consider though is the non-reflective target ranging. Some models claim to range out to 400 yds, but that is a reflective target - not an animal. I can say that the 440 will range an animal out to the advertised yardage (437 yds). For all intensive purposes - any quality rangefinder would be a good choice. I use mine when setting up a stand site, marking trees with tape at 20,30, and 40 yds. I do not use it while bowhunting unless I am hunting at a new site.
