Would this apply to someone who is BRAND NEW to archery, never shot a bow. I ask because it seems to me that it is easier to teach now before any bad habits are picked up and have to be "un-learned".
Back tension releases are generally used by target shooters because the "surprise shot" is preferrable when you are looking for extreme levels of accuracy under those type of controlled conditions. The deer hunting woods are an entirely different ball game for most folks. You want to have some measure of control under stressful conditions which is why most folks just use a typical caliper release.
