Default RE: Black powder/airline travel

I've hunting out of state for the past 2 years with a ML and haven't had any problems, but then I've not tried to bring along a loaded quick loader....I hope you can but would be surprised if they let you. No problem bringing along a sabotted bullet or conical or round ball, just no powder or caps/primers. Sure, I've done it with loaded CF ammo, but that's apples to oranges.

As to how I deal with the problem; I call the guys I hunt with (they use shotguns) and have them buy me 777 and caps. Then have them keep them for next year. If that weren't possible, then it's buy what supplies you can find when you arrive and leave them/discard them when you leave. Just another cost associated with hunting out of state, like the license, car rental, etc. Sure, it's wasteful so if you discover a better way to do things, share it with us.
