I have several "go to" rifles, most are customs. I do favor this rifle alot though, the one on the left. It's an odd 6.5 Gibbs( based on a blown out 30/06 case) chambered in a blue printed/trued 700 action. Jewell trigger, Mc Millan stocked,Leupold 6.5x20x50 Vari XIII and a 32" Hart OTC Match barrel.
Just for comparisons, that is a Rem 40X KS next to it, it sports a 27 1/4" barrel that's .870" at the muzzle. Built on a single shot, short M700 action, it's chambered in 300 Wby and wears a Leupold Vari XIII 8.5x25x50 LR, it's a mid range plinker.
The cartridges from left to right are... 25-06, 6.5 Gibbs and 270 Win
The targets(typical five(5)shot 100 yard groups) are a good representation of what the Gibbs does with 95 gr V-Max, 107gr MK and 140 Ballistic Tips. It digests just about any bullet well. It shoots very fast too for it's powder charges.
