FWIW, I sharpen the tips of my wife's Muzzy's so you can almost shave with them....that makes it just about a C-O-C head.
This is what I do on my Muzzy's as well sort of best of both worlds

Or you can just by WASP SSTs and not even have to go through that step
I used to do the same thing to my Muzzy's until WASP came out with that SST tip.
I may shoot some Muzzy 100 grain 4 bladers this year. Got that itch for the 4 blades cutting.
As to the original question
For mechs I like the new cut on contact tips due to possible deflection issues on quartering shots (never had it happen to me, but I've seen it happen). For fixed blades, I prefer the trocar type tips for strength...lot more area/cross section to absorb a heavy impact (i.e. bone) than a (relatively) thin surface of a cut on contact tip.
