I am focusing on hunting elk this fall with my bow. I have a 2002 Hoyt Ultratec set at 60 pounds with a 31 in. draw. I shoot a whisker biscuit rest, dead nuts sight, and a release with a string loop. I am shooting Goldtip hunters 5575 right now with thunderhead 100 gr, but I don't like them. Maybe it's from a few bad experiences I've had, and I just would like something else.

What I'm thinking of doing is either going to a cut on contact blade, like a rocky mtn. or magnus fixed blade

or even the new hypershock..but i don't want to be sucked in by false advertising.

I may also change my setup to be a little heavier with easton aluminum arrows.

what do you guys think, for elk?

Right now, I'm leaning towards 5575 XT goldtips with a cut on contact fixed blade.
