Default RE: Thunderhead broadheads?

First, a belated "Welcome!" to Fred--glad to have you on board!

Ccropley, I like to keep an arrow weight of at least 8 grains per lb of draw length. If your arrow weight is enough, and they fly perfect, the Thunderheads should work on game at least the size of whitetail. I'm partial to 2-blade heads myself, but know of folks that have had great success with 3 or 4 blades. I shoot a 125 grain broadhead myself. My longbow is [email protected], my arrows weigh approximately 9.5 grains per lb of draw, and on the whitetail I shot last season I got 7 5/8" penetration into the ground, after the arrow passed through the deer. Haven't had any dealings with the Sattelite broadheads in many years--not sure if the quality is there or not.
