Plant azaelas, rose bushes, spruce trees and anything else that's expensive. If you go cheap, they look like sh*t and deer leave it alone. If you spent a lot of money and they look good, the deer will mow them down

Yeah, the deer got to my spruce trees last year. This year I'm putting up fencing come winter.
Fruit trees grow fairly fast and produce, generally the second year. However they only produce a good crop for about 12 years (depends on variety) and you have to replace them. They don't have as long a life span as most trees.
