I practice every spring, from late January until turkey time, plus I played the "calling contests" game last spring and this spring, (I suck) with mouth diaphragms. Then, during the season, I get sick of it, so only call in the woods, and en route in the a.m. After the season, I put 'em away and pick up my duck and goose calls, which I also suck at, and blow them until October.

I buy a lot of turkey hunting junk, including calls, at this time of the year, when the retailers close out their lines to make room for fishing gear & other sporting goods, because the closeout prices are so danged dirt cheap. Then I have to "wait 'til next year" to use 'em, which is a challenge to my patience, but I can do.
