It's not so far fatched, CW. Yes, US law enforcement aren't on the same sheet of music. But there is a national organization that is - the National Guard. Think back to the late 50's and early 60's. When some states resisted desegregation, the US govenment federalized the Guard to enforce it (Little Rock, Arkansas). If using the Guard proves ineffective, like at Ole Miss, then federal troops could be used, just like at Ole Miss. In those instances, the government's intentions were good, the cause just. But that same power can be used to enforce bad law. Which is why we have the Second Amendment in the first place. I've said it before, I'll say it again - Yes, it can happen here.
