Wally world has both model 70 and Rem 700 ADL. Caliber depends on the store I guess. The ones around here in Fayetteville, NC have Win M70 Super Shadow packages for just under $400. But you can't beat a Savage Package. One word: Accu-trigger. I'm a Remington guy - but if I found a good Savage used, I'd snap it up in a heartbeat.

As far caliber for wife/daughter. It depends on their size. My wife has no problem with the recoil of 30-06 or 270, but she's taller than average.
