RE: New rifle and scope?
stubblejumper not to be a pest but I have more questions for you? After reading my replies in the ulrta mag post, and these posts do you think that my approach to shooting my ultra mag needs rethinking? Meaning is it crazy, and a waist of time, to shoot with reduced loads in the off season? I would love to buy a swarovski scope of any kind. Since my son was born two and a half years ago with a lot of medical problems, I've had to sacerfice (sp?) here and there. So the swarovski might have to wait. How much did you pay for your scopes? I do own a leupold 4x12x42 bought new, by me in 1991 that not being used at this time. Would it be smart to use this scope until I have made up my mind, and have the financeses (sp?) for a new scope. Do you think that I am in over my head so to speak with the ultra mag? Also am I breaking in my ultra mag correctly by shooting it 3 times in about a 2 minute period. And then letting it cool and cleaning it? I have been told to do this for the first 100 shots? I admit that for the last 10 years I have hunted only with a bow. I started reloading 2 years ago, just to save money on ammo for my pistols, (.454 Casull, .41 mag) which I shoot a lot. Getting back into rifles has been challenging but fun. I am not one, to do something half assed, its either all or nothing. Thanks and I welcome your reply.
I should add that if anyone else wants to comment on this and give me advice. It will be apprecated (sp?).
