Default RE: Is my dl too long

Zak: The worst thing you can do is post pictures on this forum and ask someone like me to critique your form/DL.

First, let me correct something Bees posted. AMO draw lenght is 1 3/4" past the throat and not 1 1/2". Sorry, Bees.

Next, you posted:
"I'm so sorry. My specs as of now are: 27" draw, 52 lbs, and 26 inch arrow
When hunting season comes: 27" arrow 27" draw and 55-60 lbs
I forgot to tell everyone that those specs are future specs."

This is backwards. During the hunting season you should reduce your draw length if you're inclined to changing it. Actually, if your DL is correct, you should never change it.

Now, looking at your DL/form. You need a lot of help. The DL is definitely too long. Your bow shoulder looks like it's in your left ear. It's definitely too high. Look at the way you're leaning backwards, check out the extended arm, notice the red spot on your bow arm, and check out the almost 'high' wrist. Speaking of the wrist, your grip needs a lot of work. You've got too much 'hand' into the bow. The grip of the bow should be on the pad of your thumb; or, keep the 'lifeline' off the grip. Another thing is that the wrist strap appears to be too tight. And finally, although I can't get into shoulder, waist and foot position due to the simplicity of pictures, your fingers are backwards. The top fingers should be touching the thumb and the bottom fingers should be loose. This will be argued by a few, but there are good reasons for it.

Hope this helps start some searching for answers. IMPO, you'd do good to contact a certified instructor before you develop any more bad habits.
