I've bought/sold/traded a few bows over the past 3 years. Here's my newest one. Acadian Woods 3 piece TD Classic Hunter, ziricote riser with cocobolo strip, striped maple limbs with cocobolo splices, antler tips and burr knobs, artistic inlay in the limbs and in A1 condition !
The bow .... hush quiet with 625 grain +/- arrows. Really nice. It has a funky shelf/riser in that theres a groove in the bottom of the radius. Looks funky but my arrows flew good and they stayed on the shelf, just didn't know a shelf was made like that ! Draws smooth, although at 58# is does seem hard for me to handle after 5-6 consecutive shots. I can only compare it to a Hummingbird and Robertson I had and they felt "smoother" on the draw however I have no way to confirm they were actually 58# or that this one is either for that matter. I normally shoot 52# so a few pounds one way or the other I would definetly feel ! Seems fast enough, faster than quite a few bows I've shot I think.
Do I like it ? Heck yeah ! Really nice finish, I've never seen ziricote before and its got kind of a speckle in it - pretty and the cocobolo through the middle really stands out. The limb arrow and laminate splices are realy cool and this is the first bow I've had with antler tips - I like !
The only negative I've found is that when I put my small hands around the riser, the back of the grip seems to have a blocky, almost right angle design that feels odd. I'm use to longbow grips, but even at that its different than other recurves. A keeper ? Its nicer than any recurve I have owned I believe, with the exception of it being a bit too much in weight shoots as well too. Very well done Acadian Woods ! If I could get a second set of limbs at about 50-52 #'s what a combo that would be.
