RE: Grizzly hunting in the lower 48
The Endangered Species Act is very specific in what it says about delisting species. Whether or not we like it, or if it's even correct, isn't the issue. The issue is it's the law and the process has to be followed before they can be delisted. It's a pain in the ass. As a SPECIES bears aren't ready to be delisted. Just because there is one population that is doing ok doesn't mean protection can be lifted. I think some people get confused by that.
Regardless of the arguments, the bear isn't going to be delisted anytime soon so debating it is somewhat pointless.
