Default RE: PIC of my

Okay everyone, here is the information about my honey hole. The woods are mostly made up of open white oaks. They deer feed in them during the first half of regular archery season. It isn't uncommon to see 20 deer in the most open part where we have three stand sites. The top side, where the pond is located, is a huge golden rod field. Deer are constantly moving through there. They go up, across the dirt road, onto the powerline, then up into the crab apple tree or up into the corn field. The home of the 17 pt. is just thick brush. It is trees that are hard to crawl under, green briar, and crab apples trees. There are small openings all threw it and that is where the deer bed. My one stand location is about 15 yards from the pond. In the early part of archery, when it is still hot outside, deer are always moving threw the open oaks to get a drink at the pond. There are huge rub/scrap lines in those woods. The biggest rub we have found was on a tree close to 7 inches wide. It is very common to find rubs on 5 inch trees. These woods always hold big deer. I think that it is because it is full of doe. This year there were probablly over 20 doe, and 8 bucks in those woods. When the rut comes in, the big boys can be seen chasing does on the powerline above the pond. That is where I saw two doe get breed this year. This year we saw two 130-140 class 10 pointers in there. A 150 class 12 pointer. A 170-180 class 17 pointer. A spike with about 9-10 inch spikes, and a 7 point that had probablly a 15-16 inch spread and was carrying a good 3 1/2 inches of mass all the way up, which isn't bad for a 1 1/2 year old buck. Thats just a little background information on the the area. Let me know what you think.

Good Luck This Season: Buck Magnet
P.S. Only Chuck Adams can sit at home and see deer so get into the woods. =;^)
