Doug, depends how tight your talking. Personally for warmth I don't want slop but still want room. My boots all fit about the same while I can feel the sides or top, I still can move my feet without discomfort. Possibly a better way is put your socks on, then strap on the boots for 15 minutes and remove, if you have markings on your feet from pressure IMHO they are too snug. If you are bit snug try removing the insole and replace it with a thinner diameter one.

As to a dryer I have done both the key is heat. If I need to dry mine in a dryer I simple put on delicate in a tumble which is relatively low heat in our dryer - more so for woolie's as the poly pro stuff dries very quickly on its own.
