RE: New to bowhunting Help
Welcome to the site and to the world of bowhunting NB2002!The question you posed concerning how to release is a good one.I agree that whatever you choose, you want to be comfortable with it.I shoot a compound,
and I personally favor using a release-aid.The type I use is a Tru-Fire wrist strap type.If you have a background as a rifle hunter, often a release-aid is a more natural feel to a new-comer into archery since it feels much like triggering a rifle shot. There are alot of different types on the market,so what is right for one,may not be right for another. If you have a local pro shop nearby, drop in and take a look around, ask to try out a few of the different types they have, and see what feels good to you.Archery and bowhunting are full of variables, from bows to arrow types, broadhead styles, stands, and etc. There is a ton of great equipment out there, but the best choice is always the one that gives you that feeling of confidence.Best of luck to you,and look forward to hearing from you on the forum.
