Default RE: Turkey Choke Tubes

if you are not getting a killing pattern at 40-45 yards with a turkey load, you have the wrong tube dia. or your tube likes another shot size or shell brand.i don't own a 10 ga. but can take turkeys at 45-50 yards with ease with my rem 870 exp super mag or browning a500g.i use hevishot 4s in both guns.my browning had a 28" barrel that carlsons chokes cut down and installed a .670 dia. truchoke turkey tube.the rem shoots a star dot or rem super full which is .665 dia.i would try different shot size and brands and if the tube you have does not produce a decent pattern beyond 30 yards,i would buy a different tube.also,i have found that more shot in the load does not necessarily produce more dense patterns.in other words ,i get a better pattern in my guns with 1 5/8 oz than 2 oz of shot.go figure!
