I too have two S&W 29s but my friend has a Redhawk with I believe a 7 1/2" barrel. It is indeed a sturdy handgun. What I like most about it though is the sights. It has a V notch rear and a gold beaded front sight much like the open sights of a rifle. These cost a bit extra but are much more accurate than the partridge style (square) sights that are more common on most handguns.
I wouldn't hesitate buying one.
