RE: Antlers dropped in Illinois.
Ive had some luck so far this year and I was also given permission to shed hunt a peice of property that is across the river from my favorite shed hunting property.I spent 2 hours on the new property but no sheds but I did find a skull from a non typical 8pt with the antlers still attached and no rodent chew marks, and saw the biggest coyote Ive ever seen, I believe it was part dog because of its size and the coloration was not that of a coyote. Went to my favorite place a couple of times and I found 4 sheds so far including one right side shed from a large nontypical buck the shed appears to be a few years old and its from the same buck I found dead last november( Ive got his skull at home buried up to his antler bases and have the antlers covered to protect them from animals chewing on them. The skull was pretty ripe when I found it so I had to bury it )So Far I have found 2 antlers in the field and the rest I have found in the woods on travel trails and 1 in a bedding area. Not done looking yet. Having a good time at it.<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
