I'm glad to hear you've got a good one! They are few, and far between!
Just like you could end up getting a bad Leupold, Ziess, Weatherby, Sako, Winchester, or what ever, I guess you can get a good 597 once in a while too!
The 597's and 710's have been debated here many times. Negatives have outnumbered the positives 20 to 1!
I have a 597, and it jams about once in every magazine loading, and just feels and looks cheap!
To me, when a company starts making duds like the 597 and 710, it is a poor reflection on the whole company product line up, so I personally will never buy another Remington again!
