BC, check to make sure the pivot arm lock nut is not too tight (or too loose). With the turnbuckle sleeve (the piece you cut) disconnected from the cable slide, the arm should fall easily but it should not be too loose. To check it, tighten the locknut until the arm won't fall, then gradually loosen it until it falls easily with no slop.

Also check to make sure the turnbuckle sleeve fits perfectly on the screw stud on the cable slide. If you have to force it on at all, its not right. It might be slightly twisted or too long or short. Adjust it until it slides easily on the stud. A misaligned turnbuckle may be putting pressure on the slide which could be the source of your noise.

The slide looks large on my guard also. As long as your guard is a standard size, don't worry about it, that shouldn't be the source of the noise.

The moleskin on the arm is a good idea but only helps a noisy draw and does little for the actual shot.

Lastly, don't expect your bow to sound exactly like it did with a prong style rest. I noticed a different sound when I switched to the MZE, not louder, just different.

Hope this helps.
