RE: Do the moon phases effect gobblers?
Exactly S&R!!Moon phase wouldn't keep me awake at night either!
93 I've hunted gobblers for along time and looking over notes and recollecting past hunts as far as I can remember I can honestly say moon phase has had little to do with my success or unsuccess afield.I do remember a few occasions where it was so light and crystal clear outside that I used a little extra precaution in setting up on a roosted bird, and I have seen a few gobblers sound-off earlier than normal too.I recollect one hunt in setting up on one gobbler that gobbled his head off for some 2 1/2 hours before fly-down.I was actually opening a gate headed into the piece of property we were going to hunt when I heard the bird first gobble! For all I know he gobbled all night!!!But he didn't gobble much after fly-down!!!!!!!
