Default fixing a blemish in my gun stock?

i went out shooting today and made a mistake of letting a buddy shoot my prized 30-06 and i diddent pay enough attention to his rest. ok ill explain the gun then the problem. its a new remington 7400 semi auto 30-06 it has the hardwood stock i think its walnut but i cant remember but up till now its been my prize posession and ive taken very very good care of it makeing sure i diddent get any scratches on it or anything if you cant tell i LOVE this gun. But today when my friend shot it it rubbed up agenst his tool box when it kicked and on the pistol grip part of the stock theres some "decorative" black paint on the bottom with clear coat over it and it scratched the clear off and scuffed up the black its probably not something most people would notice but it really really bothers me and id like to try and fix it as best as i can i dont have a digi. cam. or id post a picture but if anyone can give me some tips on at least maby making the blemish look better id really really appriciate it. thanks, sean
