It's been a tough season here for me in North Carolina. A week ago I had a gobbler coming in at about 80 yards and watched helplessly as the landowners cat chased the tom back up the hill. I have spooked a number of turkeys making impatient moves, and finally, this morning, my luck changed. I have been after this turkey since opening morning when my buddy missed him. He was directly behind me drumming at 10 yards one morning and I couldn't get a shot. We tried stalking him in a field another morning and he spooked and today I finally got him. I stalked to within 25 yards of him at 10:30 this morning and dropped him. I didn't make a call. He had a white jake with him. I will remeber this longbeard forever because I had to earn him. Now I can make my contribution to TEAM 5!
