Default RE: My "Two" Georgia Birds for Team 8: Pics!

Thanks guys!

You know I have always hunted turkey in South Mississippi and sometimes we have had those seasons where the gobblers a just call shy. I spent 13 days down there this season and it seems like this year might just be one of those "off" years for MS. Turkeys gobble on the roost, once they hit the ground, "Lockjaw". Never hear them again. At least the areas I was hunting.

My work has moved me to North Georgia and I am amazed at this beautiful mountain area. Turkey season runs 3 weeks longer here in GA. than MS. I have found that tough hunting in MS. has made for success here in GA. I am using the same tactics I used down in MS. No over calling. Most of the time I have only clucked or maybe used a fly-down cackle to let the gobbler know I am there. This just drives him nuts, he gobbles his brains out trying to make the hen (Me) come to him. I just shut up and wait. Sooner or later he can't stand it anymore and usually comes in.
This has been my secret for success this year. Patience...
