Good morning....
I was wondering how much of an ordeal it is to take my old classic 1996 PSE Edge 1000C lefty compound bow to the shop for a string replacement.
You might remember my setup: About 3 years ago, I got the bow off eBay for about $70 bucks (auction was for a bow, so all I got was
A bow. Then spent over $100 bucks getting it outfitted with sights, arrow rest, quiver, stablizer, arrows, etc...etc...
Anyway, the old bow is still going great. It's a heavy old tank and rugged as all getout, but it's still squarely aligned and true. At 65#'s and 65% letoff, it can still shoot straight and hit the bullseye at 40 yards.
I have never had the bow string replaced or anything replaced on the bow since I got it. The bow string's serving is starting to wear out right where I clip on the Tru-fire magnum release (roller bearing release - clips right on the string).
If I asked the bow shop to install a whole new bow string, serving, nock, and re-install my peep site, how much of a huge job is this? What is the average cost?
I'm just wondering because I still like this rugged old bow. I'm comfortable with it and I'm accurate, so I plan on keeping it going for as long as I can. The bow has the old style round wheel dual cams with the string loops that go on the metal teardrop hook things.
Thanks for the help and suggestions to getting my bow setup for the coming season!
