Default RE: Suggestions for Florida Hunting Guide

DHF,

I really did not hunt hard at all! I had my family waiting to go to Busch Gardens and to the beach. As a result, I could not concentrate on proper hunting. I was there for the first 2 hours and never heard a gobble or saw a bird. I did see lots of wild boar, however.

Answeres to your questions...

1. Was your hunt during the week or on the weekend? UH is open on wed & thurs only

2. Did you cross the Hillsborough river and slip into the south east section? YES, that is where i saw the boars

3. Was the check in/out station maned? YES, some nice guy who admittedly did not know much about the territory

4. If so, did you see the states on the number of birds taken from that area? NO, did not see stats, but was told that one bird was shot each day there

One guy I met said he'd been there 6 times that season and had not heard any gobbles. I walked the whole loop and then some in a scouting trip and covered over 9 miles in brand new snake boots. I had some nice blisters to remind of the fun.

It was not worth the $ 180 + in license fees, but it was my fault for not hunting hard
