You may laugh but the most important thing that someone can carry with them into the woods is confidence. So right wrong or indifferent if it gives a person more confidence then it may be a valuable commodity to them. Also, I think it can be beneficial in those mistakes in yardage estimation that everyone makes at some point or another. 5 of the 6 deer that I killed last year, I would not have been able to range if I had a range finder and while I don't know what the difference in arrow drop from a bow shooting 230 fps is compared to a bow shooting 280 fps, I am quite sure it's enough to make the difference between a heart shot and a low miss at 35 yards.
Also remember the heavier the arrow the more efficient the bow will be!
That's simply not true. The bow will typically be more efficient up to a point. After a certain point the bow will become less efficient. Have you ever heard of the law of deminishing returns?
