Default RE: How does a pheasent work????

That info on pointing dogs not making good pheasant dogs is hogwash. My brittany is closing in on 800 birds and it is just not a problem. In fact, a good pointer with a false point now and then goes slow, which is a huge benefit. Many of the flushing dogs dont have good enough control to go slow when trailing a bird, thus busting them out of range. Flushing dogs can be great as well, but they MUST be under control. I have never in my life seen 12 false points on a single bird. In fact more than 2 or 3 is extremely rare. I am talking wild birds in MN, SD, IA, ND and MT. If you would like some factual information, go to pheasantsforever.org.
