Cardeer, you have just given me the best hunting Idea I have seen in a few years! Where I hunt the deer frequent former clearcut areas we call "Cristmas tree plots"
This because they were planted in the past few years and nopw you got clusters of sapling pines from 3 to 10+feet tall. This Idea of yours would put me right in the middle of them, instead of having to sit in a burn pile that might be 100 plus yard off. (Actually they get way farther than that at times, but I have had them get within 50 yards of the pile in some instances)

Just my uneducated opinion!
