Last year, my cousin killed a tom with a full fan, 1" spurs, 19 # and only had a 3" very full beard. My uncle said he killed one once that had over 1" spurs and only had a nub for a beard. Uncle killed a few without spurs also. I also know a guy that killed a hen with a 8.5" "pencil" beard.
