Default RE: Ruger Vs. Remington

Remington 700 hands down. Ruger action is sloppy. Trigger isnt much better. And the avaliability of aftermarket goodies is almost nill. There are more custom rifles built on 700 actions than any other. That alone should tell you something. And if the idea of a custom ever enters your mind, good luck finding a reputable smith willing to use the ruger action. Most will advise against it. The only ruger I find appealing is the old tang saftied version. The new ones are junk. There are plenty around if you look and a tang saftied ruger in .270 should be had for under 400 bucks. There is one in my local gun shop in excellent condition except for some scratches on the floor plate for $375. If I didnt have so many other projects going, I would grab it. And I hate 270s. I just like the feel of the rifle. And believe me the new ones just dont have the same feel.
