RE: Remington 700 BDL .270?
The other day I bought a used ADL .270 for under $300.....YES UNDER $300.
It has a botched attempt to install a recoil pad and the front sight needs to be replaced but these are no brainers, anyone can do it!! The BDL functionally is a fine gun as well but the era of bakelite foreend tips and white spacers and shine-all-the-way-to-the-next-mountain finishes passed in the '80s. Remington's classic is a great stock and I'd be happy to see them replace the BDL with that type of stock.
My point: There's some great buys out there on ther used market and I'd certainly be looking for an ADL over the BDL...costs less and IMO a better gun to boot.
However, if you want to wind up with something to pass down to the next generation the Winchester featherweight M-70 in .30-06 IMO is a far superior gun to the Remmy .
