go to corbon.com and look at their 357 offering. I think this should solve the debate. With proper shot placement, they have 2 rounds capable of taking deer ethically out to 100 yds. Their ballistics are from a 4" barrel. With a 6" barrel you will get approx. 100-150 more fps, and more energy too.
