Well being another one of the folks waiting on their new bowtech's (going on 2 months now), I will relate what I know of the situation. There used to be 2 distributers in Canada, the one in Ontario and one in Alberta. Now being in B.C. my local shop used to deal with the outfit out of Alberta and when I ordered my Extreme VFT last year it was here promptly. Now... it appears that the Alberta distributor and Bowtech have had a falling out, and the outfitter in Ontario is the sole distributor for all of Canada. Speaking with 2 different proshop owners here who have dealt with this outfit, both report problems. If you have to send your bow away for a warranty issue, don't expect to see it again for a LOOONG time! Apperantly they have a tendency to sit around at the distributors until he feels like getting around to sending them off to Bowtech. As far as I understand it their main business is in firearms and not all the staff are knowledgeable about bows. My order for example, local shop was told that they had the bow I wanted in stock and that it should arrive very promptly. 5 weeks later and no bow, we call the distributor to find that the person who originally took the order didn't have a clue and they in fact did not have the bow in stock, to add frustration to that they had no record of my order!!! Now usually I would have cancelled the order and bought something else, but right now the only other bow I would be interested in is also from the Bowtech line, so either way I would have to deal through this useless distributor. So I guess its just a waiting game now. I am going to E-mail Bowtech with my displeasure over this situation and I will include a link to this thread in the e-mail.....will see if it prompts them to do anything about this distributor.
