I'n not that familiar with Ameristep's line of blinds, but I've
hunted with Double Bull's since '99. I just sold a older model
(GH500 in Skyline Apparition) that did not have the viewing
windows and only had the ceiling blackened. Once I sold it
I ordered the new BS 5 in Green Deception, with blackened
interior, and carbon rods. In addition, my dad, brother, and
I also have a T5 in Deception.

We've used these with much success hunting turkeys, mule
deer, coues deer, and javilina...though it really wasn't needed
for the pigs. We do go to great lengths to brush our
blinds in for all types of deer, from experience I believe
this to be true for any blind.

Pros-
1. Ease of setup. I can't imagine how it could be any easier.

2. Lots of room. Two people can comfortably hunt from inside
and on days when I hunt from daylight to dark (which I do
quite often) I can set up my own little "timber condo"
In addition, it's nice to be able to stretch after sitting for
long periods of time.

3. Zero wind flap. I have hunted turkeys several times over
years where the wind was blowing 35-40 mph. As long as
the tie-downs are secure there are no problems.

4. Shoot-thru netting. We've had excellent success shooting
several fixed blades and Rocket Steelhead's out to 30+
yards.

5. DB's Customer Service. From our experience, they are as
good as it gets.

Cons-

1. Heavy to carry. That is why I ordered the carbon rods to
save a few pounds and now use a old golf pull cart to
haul my blind when possible (through open fields and
pastures).

I'm in a bit of a hurry and have probably left something out,
but hopefully some of this will help. They are not for everyone,
but IMO they are definitely worth the extra $$. Plus, with
decent care, they will last for a lifetime of hunting.
