Default RE: 30 30 for deer

As partley pointed out above:
Some hunters like to use a longbow for deer. It has its limitations
Some like a superior compound bow. It has its limitations.
Some like a superior muzzleloader. It has its limitations.
Some like a superior lever-repeater 30/30. It has its limitations.
Some like a superior .308 scoped bolt gun. It has its limitations.

The conditions and methods used to hunt deer have a lot to do with what gun/cartridge is better to use. lets say you are still hunting in thick bush and expect a deer to be shot at at close range, on the move, and while you are standing. Then a short, light handy lever 30/30 with open sights would be much better than a longbarreled bolt action .300 mag. with a 6 power scope.
( I'd like a savage 99 in .300 savage with a 2.5 power scope, better)
