RE: ground gobblin
I have been having the same freakin problem. I hunt all over Georgia and its the same everywhere I go. The only thing I can think is that he gobbles so hard early that he has all the hens he wants waiting for him on the ground. I have also started figuring out that the mornings that he gobbles only 2 or 3 times, he will respond to calls better. Lately, we have been hearing them and literally sprinting to try to get to him in time. I think the hunting is about to get a lot better soon. It always seems to happen that way.
