I mainly use an electronic call, it's an old one with tapes. But I do tend to use hand calls on occasion. I tend to lean towards... dang, I forgot the brand! All I can remember is that they have a camo rubber coating and they stand up well to the weather. Or were you asking what type of sounds I use? In that case, in the early part of the season I tend to use a standars wounded rabbit. When the breeding season heats up I start using a lone coyote challenge tape. The best thing to do is match the call to whatever prey source is in your area. But I tell ya what... I have a secret weapon that works really well here in Minnesota, with all the farms in the area: The sound of a wounded or dying cat! The tapes CAN be found, I DO believe that Johnny Stewart makes them. However, I found this out a LONG time ago. I used to do a lot of fox trapping when I was younger and I used to catch a lot of strays... and them things make a helluva racket! Anyway, I'd end up with 'yotes tearing the hell out those cats when they came across 'em in the trap. So, the next time I caught one I brought an old tape player out and recorded about 5 minutes of that thing wailing. Made a looping version, took it out with me the next time I went hunting and the coyotes came RUNNING!
