As for trail cams, I have been using a typical 35 mm one. Actually it is the least expensive trail cam produced....the Stealthcam MC2-G. Here is a shot from a few weeks ago....

The only drawback I can see with the digital style cams is if you hunt on heavily pressured land and it is likely to get stolen. I would rather be out $70 than $300...
