Wasn't deer hunting...but about 10 years ago I was sitting under a big oak squirrel hunting in early season. I wasn't paying much attention, then I heard something. I hadn't even looked to my right when I saw a hoof about 3' from my leg. I sat still and the doe eventually ate an acron that was about 6" from my boot. She lifted her head and looked right at me...then all hell broke loose and she was gone. My heart was beating like a freight train...Still don't know how I didn't hear her sooner.
