I paid $ 489 plus tax, I will say that the stock is a real nice piece of wood. Why not have your 06 barrel reamed for the Whelen Should be cheaper than rebarreling. Here's their website http://www.gricewholesale.com , there is a link for the 7600 and for the special run of the 700 CDL.

I saved the link in my favorites.I'll have to talk to my GS buddies and see about reaming it to the Whelen.Thanks to Kyle3 also for the suggestion.If I remember correctly that's about what I gave for the Special Edition Ruger M-77 35 Whelen.I would either like to get a Factory Walnut stock or the New Ruger Synthetic stock for it.I'm not real crazy about the Zytel stock.
